I have a 2015 Black denim street glide special with the red pinstripe. My original plan was to black out the whole thing. But I started to like a little chrome to contrast the flat black. Mainly on the exhaust and motor.
What's everyone's thoughts on mixing black denim and gloss black? I'd like to change my rear fender supports, docking system, and passenger backrest to all black. Harley only sells this stuff in gloss black. Or should I try and match with powdercoat?
I think the 2 different blacks might look good together. Does anyone have any pictures of this?

Its your bike and whatever you want, its all good. One bike of mine is custom painted House of Kolour Galaxy Grey as the base and boo koo custom graphics mostly real silver-leaf. Even the apes are painted to match. I have done as much black to it as I could and very happy with what I chose. Just do what you want and empty the pockets.

I have a 2010 denim fatboy, I powder coated the engine covers denim black and some other parts. Didn't like the look, to much of the same colors . Torn motor down , redid it , mix of denim , gloss black and chrome / polished looks better to me. Check out the fatboy S .

I had a 12 SG in black denim and blacked out every piece of chrome with gloss black powdercoat. I loved it and thought the gloss/flat contrast gave it some depth. You'll never be able to match the denim finish so by going gloss you avoid the "close, but not quite" issue. I will try to attach a couple of old photos so you can get a sense. Hope that helps.
