Well, I've already said I'm not a fan bc if the lack of chrome. Asked my son if he'd seen it yet. He said yah, ain't it awesome! We'll, guess Harley IS going after the younger crowd after all, lol. For me, chrome is KING.

That said...here are the things IMO that should come on a Road King "Special", and would have made this bike WAY more appealing.

114" Motor
Defiance Floor Boards
Quick Detach Passing Lights - I know they don't exist, but they should!
Windshield - Newly designed and w/Bluetooth Speaker Pod
LED Lights - C'mon MOCO!!! Why can't you get this?!?!?!
Fatter Bars - Preferably 12" to 14" Ape Hangers
RK Seat instead of SG/RG Seat
i agree on the black denim. the charcoal denim looks great. the gloss black? not so much. too much glossy black between the tins, and the engine and the front end, etc....

agree on the 114
disagree on defiance stuff, don't care for it so much
disagree on the passing lights
detachable plain windshield would be a must-buy
ewww, leds..... yuck.
yes, fatter bars
yes, solo seat

and different wheels. these look cool, but they are gonna be hell to clean

Doesn't the CVO Roadies come with LED's?

I get what you're saying on the Vivid Black...it is a lot. But to me it looks better than any of the other colors available. That pea soup - baby **** green is hideous!!! Why didn't they do Black Denim instead?!?!?!

It's a cool looking King. However, it's now the only tourer they offer that doesn't have a windshield or fairing included with the price. Unless you just have to have more black, I would buy the regular RK and use the difference in money to make it my own (and better).

Well us old guys will eventually quit buying bikes and well......die. Somebody needs to buy them after were gone. Damn the MOCO for wanting to stay in business another 100+ years!! I don't know why everyone complains, HD already offers quite a few models as it is, probably more than most other brands in the cruiser market. Adding different levels of trim to existing models is just trying to offer something for everyone and it is done in every industry. The new RK-S is just catering a market that is younger and probably also influenced by the sale of blacked out parts they sell, IMO.

I think it looks pretty good, but why would they not have a windshield on it? The windshield off the previous CVO RK would look awesome on it.

Biggest thing for me is that it has some decent looking wheels on it already. That saves quite a bit of money if you don't like the ones on the regular RK. Throw some real apes on it and you'd be set.

I'm not a fan of the "blacked out" look although I know lots are. Chrome rules though.

I'm absolutely sold on the 2017 M8 suspension upgrades. Just make sure the rears are properly dialed in before you ride and you will be too (unless you're riding on a $800+ set of rear shocks).

Thanks for your input and thoughts! We're excited to see what comes for H-D and us riders. As for the "50" new models in the next 5 years, I don't see that as a huge number. Every CVO Model, "S" Model and trim change would be considered a new model, so you're not looking at a ton of totally new, ground up bikes. It sure is a great marketing tool and has gotten a lot of attention though.
