We stopped at Boot Hill a few years back. Wife went to the ladies room while my buddy and I ordered beers for us all.
She came back a few minutes later and said that we had to get the hell out of there immediately. Turns out that she opened the bathroom door and it was completely black. No light from any source whatsover. 2 guys were hanging out there. No idea if they were gays or a couple creepers waiting to attack someone. Went down the street to Dirty Harry's and never went back to the **** hole.
The story came back to mind after seeing a photo of the place a couple of posts ago.

Main St. looks pretty quiet, ok dead. Geez if it stays like that maybe I'll come over for a day or so.

The Boot Hill is far from a family restaurant. Its a real year 'round biker bar. I'm not a regular by any means, but have never run into a problem there. I generally stay away from Main St during Bike Week, but did swing over to the Speedway Sat morning. The place was pretty crowded. This picture probably represent 10% of the parking area.

That was 9:00 AM this morning. Within another hour, there wasn't room to walk. That's when I moved on to the Speedway.
I rarely do Main st. during events, way too crowded. The only time I'll go, is early, and leave when the place starts to get crowded.

Went to Biketober last year right after Hurricane Mathew. Crowds were way down and lots of stuff was closed of course from damage. Still had a good time even with all the rain on Saturday. Crowds on Main (live cam) look bigger to me than what was there last year for the 75th! Might try to go down towards the end of the week if my roofers can finish my house. Snowing and freezing rain today and they still managed to get the main part of the house nearly finished. Going to be cold even in Daytona mid week with a high of 59 Weds.

the journey there was more fun than actually being there... to me anyway.

i now live 3 hours away from daytona and you couldn't pay me to ride over there.

I now only hit small or oddball rallies and gatherings
Huge rallies are not my cup of tea.

i know that new street rod is going to be over there though. I want to ride it but, it isnt worth the drama.
Thanks for the informative post..................

Got to the Speedway around noon. Took 2 hours to get there. Two bikes wrecked on I-4 (killed one guy). In traffic for awhile. Walked around for a couple of hours. Then rode around for awhile, got something to eat then headed home. Might try to go up to Rossmeyers tomorrow.

Nice bike. Must have missed it and walked right by it today at the Speedway.
