I would buy the springer for looks alone.

Same thing I thought. The apes are too wide. A pair of mini apes, like the ones on a Softail Custom, would look better.

I'm biased but love that FB. There's a lot to say about the actual ride.....and granted I only rode one Springer......but I couldn't wait to get back on my FB. As for 'cool factor'? Yes....the Springer is crazy cool looking, but I tend to lean close calls to actual function.

FWIW, I have a 2003 FB with the 88 (carb) and absolutely love it. Love the sound of a carb'ed HD. Has that nice Potato, Potato, Potato sound and kind of sets it apart from the other. Minor detail I know.....but still pretty cool.

Can still be had for reasonable $$, but are an appreciating classic. I sold mine (the one pictured above) for double what I paid.

But other than that, it was just a cool, nostalgic bike to own and ride. Drew tons of compliments at any stop.

Or if you want the best/easiest ride - Newer Fatboy or Heritage.

N72,

Never knew you had the classic original custom Springer BadBoy!!!
That was the model that I wanted, along with the 2000 CVO Roadie!

A very lovely classic!

Yup. I got a screaming deal from the 2nd owner. The bike was great. It was definitely a nostalgic ride vs the Street Glide. Absolutely beautiful bike imo. I hated to sell it, but the deal (made with Cheryl) was that it was bought with the intent to sell for profit, which we did.

Doesn't stop me from buying another one though.

Well all.....

In a sudden turn of events I just got myself a 2010 Fatty. I was not expecting to go this way but I couldn't justify, in any terms, not getting it.

The Springer is on my list. I will definitely own one some day soon. Just love them!

Thanks for all the feedback. Truly appreciate all the comments and enjoyed reading them
