Default My learner bike

Following the great advice of all the folks here, I decided that to get back into riding I needed to find a cheap bike to get back into the groove. Would hate to plunk down $20k and drop it before the ink was dry on the paperwork..or worse..crash and burn. Anyways the wife found this bike for me from a co-worker of hers. It was his dad's and he needed to sell it since he bought a new Boulevard 50. We went there and he couldn't get it started. The bike was filthy but I could see it was in damn good shape. So after trying for 10 mins and nothing starting I offered him $200. Long story short..it's now mine! Got it home, monkied with it for about 15 mins and she started up! Change oil, plugs, brake fluid and she rides like a dream. Also I just finished the MSF course here and am totally legal..so that's a huge weight off too (BTW..I took that course even with me being on dialysis...and by that I mean I was off the machine and learning on a scoot in less than 30 mins. So if I can do THAT then anyone can pass that course!).

So, here are some pics of my "learning" bike. Hopefully by next year I will have saved enough to buy my dream bike by then..which is either a RKC or a Ultra (still can't decide between em LOL)!

thats a pretty sweet bike for $200 - you can beat it to heck and back and get your moneys worth, thats for sure! Just be sure t ride safe. An upright rider is a happy rider.

Damn, my dad's looking for a cheap starter bike to get his riding legs back too. I just hope he can find a deal like you did. Happy riding.

Now after you get the other bike later, you can chop this one![&:] ...I think that could turn into a sweet looking chopper/bobber project.

Great decision. That Suzuki cleaned up good. When your done with it you could sell it for$850- $1000.

Congrats and have fun with it! I think you did the right thing! If you have not already, get signed up for an MSF course. No way you can lose money on this deal, and when you have some scratch put together for a big ride, you will be a more experienced rider. Stay safe, and welcome to the club!
