Default How To Ship Bike Seat to Mean City?

I am getting ready to schedule and ship my Road King seat to Mean City Cycles. They recommend I box up the seat for shipping but I am having trouble finding a box which will hold the 32L x 18W x 11H item. Has anyone found a suitable box and, if so, where? Else do I cobble together with tape a couple cardboard boxes and ship that way??? Or do I just off the seat at UPS and pay them to box it up since they will be shipping it anyway?
Thanks.

I got mine at www.boxes-r-us.com

Why would you even entertain the thought of skimping on a BOX that will be holding your seat?

Get a box from a shipping store, and mail it at the post office. You must use their tape, they won't ship duct taped packages. First estimate I got was $147 from Michigan to Cali, got my own box and it was $25 at USPS.

Try UPS stores, they have all sorts of boxes and you can get an estimate on shipping.

I talked to Mean City and they guided me through the process.

Or go check at your local Harley or motorcycle store, they may have boxes they would normally toss.

You could also get a box larger than needed and cut it down, or make your own. Just tape it together well. You can dumpster dive behind clothing or appliance stores. They usually have large boxes.

Or assemble two smaller boxes together to make a large enough one..
Given the box size, be prepared for the shipping costs...

I just sent mine down and it's coming back tmrw. I use two 14x14x14 boxes per Loris direction. Worked fantastic. I wrapped the seat in bubble wrap and sent it on its way. I sent it down USPS priority 3 day and they had it the second day. Cost was 14 and change which included 300 insurance and tracking.
