New vs old. Wife and I every year end of may take trip just her and I 3800 to 5000 miles. Following our plan of ownership we have never had an issue with break downs.
Our bikes get between 20 and 60 K a year, Do nothing special to them other than follow HD maintance . We have been riding long enough to know that a 5000 mile trouble free ride was not even possible in a dream at one time. We still own a 1996 EVO also. Love to ride it from time to time and remember the fun we have had on it. But to compare it to any that we have also had would be a joke.
You will never buy a garage queen from me. When they get trade they have some miles on them. But you will get a deal on a good bike.
Where do you draw the line. Buy nothing newer than a Knuckle , a pan ? No disk brake, no belt drive, nothing over 45 HP. Where would the world be with those of us that step out and take the lead. Maybe that is why may of us can buy a new bike when we please and pay cash for it. Different mind sets. I just get bored sitting in the back of the room. I quit riding the peoples bus the day I found away to get my mini bike to school with out a ticket.
Yep the older one is still fun,

Anyone who buys a brand spanking new red with flames 2017 M8 Road King please let me know. Please keep the bike extremely well maintained and always garage kept. Try to keep the mileage below 2,000 miles. Also, let me know which mods and aftermarket parts you will be adding. If you contact me ahead of time I'll let you know which mods I do and don't want. A rider's backrest would be great! Hopefully there will be a handful of you to choose from.
You'll be riding my future bike so I ask that you take good care of it. I'll be riding the crap out of it when I take your garage queen off one of your hands. I'll pay a fair price two years from now.
Thank you new bike owner for taking the depreciation for me. I'll buy you a few rounds of your favorite suds after we make the deal.
