Default Which is better? GARMIN or HD Built-In GPS?

I was unable to find anything clear when I searched this question. A bazillion posts came up.

Hopefully I am not duplicating anyone's efforts…

Between the Garmin Zumo GPS's in general (any of those models) and the Built-in HD GPS, which is better?

Thank you,

BuzzCap7

I use a paper map, used GPS once and didn't like it.
But if I had to chose one, it would be the one with cheap or free updates.
Built in technology gets outdated vs buying new hardware every couple years.

I wish I could help, but I have never used either one.

Paper map !! I wonder how many would make it, if given an address and an atlas NO CELL PHONE. Like some of us Truck Drivers did it years ago. Call home once a day, listen to a AM radio station ??

Just about anything is better than the HD GPS. It's terrible.

The vehicle manufacturers have missed the boat with extremely over priced GPS (thousands v. a couple hundred for a Garmin or included with a phone), costly map updates and short life cycles.

A phone or standalone GPS is the one to beat barring some really great support by the vehicle. I don't know what Harley offers but I suspect it's "bucks up".

The GPS on my SG works pretty good IMO. I have vehicles and a boat with built in GPS (Garmin on the boat), along with a couple handheld units.

The HD system works as good (better than our 14 Highlander) as the other ones I own. It's nice having the HD system talk to you through the stereo while you are riding. It is also nice that it will show you gas stations in the area when you get low on fuel.

Until my SG I used maps BTW. I still carry them on a trip, but integrated GPS is nice.

I have a TomTom that I use with a RAM mount. It works well for me.
