Default Brake lights

Ok so I said something about this in a softail forum lastnight but haven't really got any answers and I need to figure this out.

yesterday I installed my AN 3" forward control extensions and bassani prostreet exhaust. When I was done with the exhaust I fired it up and noticed that my tail light and brake light wasnt working. I switched the polarity on the brake light switch since that was the only thing that I had messed with. No dice.

Then I pulled the bulb and one of the elements was burned out (wouldn't the other element still work though?). So I replaced the bulb and the running light came on, but still no brake light.

So I started checking fuses and found a blown fuse, replaced it and still no brake lights. Brake light will not illuminate even when I squeeze the front brake.

So basically I got running lights back now, but no brake lights using the front or rear brake. Any help is much appreciated cause im lost at this point.

Check the wires from the switch back to where it goes into the harness. Sounds like a pinched or broken wire.

Hell I couldn't even see where the wires go once they go up. I sure wish I would've noticed this before I put the exhaust on.

Probably pinched the wire on the rear master cylinder switch behind the exhaust.

You talking about the brake switch that screws into the block on the rear brake line?

Yes, that is what we're talking about.
A pinched or broken wire down in that area considering the work that you were doing would explain the blown fuse.

Thought so. I can double check again tonight but I don't think so because the wires are inside the frame.

Your brake lights and marker lights are two separate circuits. Check your other fuses. Then find where you pinched it, and repair it.
"Accessory" fuse for brake and signals, "Lights" fuse for running lights.

Can the wires at the switch be jumpered (complete the circuit) and make the light come on??
