i'm thinking of buying the lisle 56150 flaring tool or the eastwood on car flaring tool, which is small and can get into tight spots. opinions or thoughts on either of these ? the lisle tool can do more, buy i don't know which would be the better tool.
I have a flare tool....haven't touched it in almost 40 years!! Hopefully you'll have some uses for it....otherwise I would look to rent/borrow one for your project.
I have what amounts to both. If I good only have one the Lilse would be it.
How often would you use one of tools??

i think back over the years and could have used one many times, plus i'm a tool freak ! i'm getting one of these just wondering which makes the best flares.
I got this one around 15 years ago. It's pricey, but I was tired of making a flare more than once to get it right and needed some special flares. It will still be like knew for my estate!

I like the idea of an on car flaring tool. If you are only going to flare 3/16, this tool looks pretty good. I have Snap-On and Lisle double flaring tool. They both work well.

i bought the lisle tool and have been making some flares with it. my flares are tending to come out crooked. don't know why , maybe i just need to make more until i get better at this . any tips out there ?

You probably have too much tubing exposed when you start the process. The die is usually used to measure the amount of tube that you are to work with.
