Pulled into to the dealership this weekend and a kid, at least to me, mid 20's says "sounds like an 07 nota Harley." So I say "It is an 07 but what's a Harley supposed to sound like?" He says "loud and proud". What the hell is that supposed to mean? I let it go as he had his woman with him and out of respect for her I thought he'd already made enough of an *** out himself. By the way I like the sound of my 07 non sounding Harley, Harley. What's with people these days that theyfeel comfortable enough to insult what you ride...back in the day when I was young we respected the older guys and tried to learn from them not kick them in the nuts about what they rode or how it sounded. Inow know why some animals eat their young at birth.

 

I would have made some off color comment about how his mom must be a Harley cuz she was pretty loud and proud, and then I would have asked his girlfriend what her name is and if she wanted to learn the difference.

 

Are you running stock pipes?? Many people don't understand that a stock harley is quiet.

I've also got an '07, and at first I thought it idled way too high and didn't quite sound as good as the carbed version. Then I heard a few of the carbed bikes a few days ago and realized I was totally wrong. My bike idles a bit faster, but with the short shots it sounds great.

Turns out I was watching too many vids of old knucklehead and shovelhead engines at idle.

NOW ... THOSE BIKES SOUND AMAZING!!!!!!!!

 

The young kids are very outspoken these days. Sooner or later he'll pop of to the wrong guy and then he'll have to back his mouth up.
