When my wife and I are traveling we do anywhere between 500 and 800 or so miles a day. On our way to Sturgis we do 780 miles the first day, boring interstate. Then and easy 550 miles the next day to Wall SD, the next day we take all day to get to Sturgis less then 200 miles away. She rides her own bike.
Two years ago on my way to CA, I rode 780 the first day, 750 the next, then 720.
Usually ride Hard to get to our general destination, then 300 miles days or so sight seeing while there.

2 ways to look at it , if you have a set destination or time limit and want to get there on interstates 4-500 miles a day is easy on today's bikes. My personal choice is side roads, secondaries and sight seeing so between 250 to 350 a day is reasonable giving you breaks and looky lou time and your not beat at the end of a day or when you get where your going.

As stated by several others, it depends. On my previous bike (Yamaha V star 950) 300 miles was a long, hard day. One of the reasons I upgraded to a touring bike is so I could take longer trips without killing my back. Two weeks ago I went 400 miles, mix of interstates and back roads. This spring, I did 550, then 750 the next day on a trip home from the east coast on my Road King. Those days were mostly interstates, but I felt good enough at the end to get off I-40 and take a detour through the NW Arkansas Ozarks into Oklahoma.

That's a pretty ride up there. I did that in August or Sept for 3 days doing 300ish a day on every two lane I could find. Gorgeous country but in the hills 300 a day is what's happy for me, more than that and I get tired.
