JIM'S Smokin' Q, on rt-129 just S.of Blairsville,GA. Only open thur-fri-& sat. Lines in the parking lot but moves fast and worth the wait. Rated #7 in US by Travel mag.

every Oct a group of us go down to Kansas City for a friends "toy for disadvantage kids" run. We turn that weekend into a BBQ tour every year and we have made a good dent in the many BBQ places in KC we dont have many that we haven't tried.
The best place to ride to and enjoy the BEST yes hands down THE BEST BBQ its in Des Monies Iowa... yeap I said Iowa.

Dan'L Boone Inn Restaurant in Boone, NC when y'all are in the Blue Ridge. Greatest breakfast buffet in the USA. You've got to go try it.

 

In Western Canada we got nuthin like the portions per plate in the USA restaraunts. No special burger joints or breakfast places worth bragging about that I've run across.

 

I've heard good reports about Slaters 5o/50 in Southern California. I haven't tried it, but will soon.

Also, Salty's in Bakersfield has pretty good BBQ.

 

Meh.

Try Felix's Southern Style BBQ in Oceanside. Or
That Boy Good in Oceanside. Or
When Pig's Fly in Vista.

But Phil's is ok.

When Pigs Fly in Vista...is in a Convenience Store attached to a Chevron station. Not really a restaurant there though, it's all take out.
