Inviting someone to ride who doesn't ride over 45mph.

Well the biggest our group gets is 4 people. That is more than enough.
I get really pissed when I'm driving/riding and someone is in front of me slowing me down. I'm not going to risk that on my bike and the person behind me might take that anger to a dangerous level. That's one reason I'm not going to ride with someone who can't do the speed limit.

Maybe your friend won't go over 45mph because he hasn't learned to counterseer yet. Sorry...wrong thread.
I couldn't ride with him. I have a friend who showed up at my job this year when I was ready to leave. We did 10 miles on the interstate which is 65mph, and he did 60 the whole time. I was ready to crawl outta my skin. As soon as he got off his exit I was up at 75, which is where most everyone else is.
If I wanted to ride slow, I'd stick to parades.

I can relate to the OP. I do 95% of my riding solo, but rallies or beach runs are cool to ride with a bud. Fortunately, my one usual riding buddy rides at about the same pace I do so it's cool, but we still fall into the "where do you wanna eat?" "I don't know, where do YOU wanna eat?" crap sometimes...

I have a problem. I have a relative who doesn't ride over 45mph. I have neglected inviting this relative on rides because honestly he takes the fun out of my own riding.
This relative bought a bike a couple months after I did because he wanted to ride with me. But it's been 6 months and he has already expressed he won't be riding any faster. We have a 100 mile trip planned for tomorrow and someone else invited him. I'm thinking about not going because I hate slowing other people down because one person out of our group will not run the speed limit.
I love this man but if you can't ride at least the speed limit then your *** doesn't need to be on 2 wheels.
I'm so sick of this. What am I supposed to do?

- It is HIS problem and not yours.
- Be honest with the guy. Tell it to him frankly and of course no condescendingly.
- And if it is not fun for you as stated, then it all stops there.
If the guy is ANY quality type of person, he will understand and not want to screw up your ride.
