Inviting someone to ride who doesn't ride over 45mph.

So why did you tell him where the next gas station was if you were not intending to wait for him? Do did you tell him that you were not going to wait for him?

i have two pals like this. as long as you are not behind them it's not to bad. if you get behind one of them they slow and then speed up and sometimes when going up hills they slow down so much and down shift i worry that someone will rear end them. these guys have been riding for many years too. their riding style sucks and i stay away from them when we are all out. it takes awhile for them to catch up, but so be it. i'm just glad they ride their ride and alls safe.

The speed limits on the ride are mostly 55mph and a lot of your 4 wheel vehicles will be running 60+mph.
I'm the rider who will ride the speed limit but doesn't mind going 5mph over if a faster rider is with me.
It's going to hurt his feelings but I bought my bike to ride it like I want to.

If you don't want to hurt his feelings and are concerned about your relationship then just don't go. Tell him something came up and go riding on your own or occupy your time elsewhere. Repeat process as needed and eventually he'll get the point. For some a passive aggressive response like this doesn't hurt their fragile little feelings because it's Non Confrontational.
