i don't have one but i heard that they work. people notice you. also, cars in front of you tend to slow down thinking that it's a police bike behind them (i guess it depends on your bike's profile)

 

I use one, simple to install, and never had anyone give me a hard time.

 

I don't use one, but I do modulate my headlight manually (flashing the hi-beam on and off)when a car is poised to encroach on my space. Since I haven't modified my passing lamps to stay on with the hi-beam, they flash on and off as well. I get some dirty looks, but I can live with that. Dirty looks are better than dirty fenders.

 

I've never had anyone get upset over my modulating headlight. At least they never told me they were upset. I would not ride without one. As far as I'm concerned it is a must have safety device and it does get attention of cagers about to cross your path.

1. Modulating headlight
2. Hog light. (Brake light)
3. Loud horn
4. Attention getting exhaust. (I did not say loud)

 

Im thinking about getting one.Saw one the other day and it did stand out big time.
Anything to get noticed.I wear a white cop helmet.It does two things.You can see that white a mile away, and.People tend to think your a cop.Seems like people pay more attention.
I could give a rats azz if someones pizzed at me.

Been running one on last 2 bikes. I am a beleiver that it gets you noticed. When splitting lanes cars tend to part like the Red Sea

 

it will get a bottle or can chucked at you from oncoming traffic in my neck of the woods.....
hell , I am lucky if my hedlight even comes on , I ain't gonna put a blinker on it and push my luck

 

not much difference here in north alabama, drivers still pull out or turn left. got me a ticket in TN last memorial day weekend, made the cop notice me, without it i would have slid by in the pack of speeders. i only turn mine on when i see a vehicle at a stop sign at the oncoming intersection then turn it back off when passing.

 

no i dont use em, but I did put on more lights aux passing lamps

I've run modulating headlights on my last two bikes and I beleive that they've saved my butt a couple times.
I have had folks tell me I had a short in my light, but then I explain it's a safety thing like the construction trucks run.
No one has ever showed hostility over it!?!
I'll ALWAYS run a modulating light.
