The next thing to look at is the pulleys and, of course, alignment.

Is something rubbing on it, not adjusted correctly, to much power through the belt?

Default Fat boy belt

The first time he was " showing out" and it completely popped. The last two times were just riding down the road. Thought the clutch has gone out

Like Halo said, pulleys and alignment are suspect. This is assuming he's treating the belt properly and not twisting it, kinking it, or bending it too tight when he installs it.

If the pulleys weren't replaced with the belt, that would be the first thing I would look at. Specifically the teeth. Check for delamination. Next would be belt tension.

Cheers!

Check the belt guards and see if there's contact. If you had a way to get the rear wheel in the air, put it in neutral and just hand turn the wheel to listen for any friction/rubbing noises.

Either there was a bad batch of belts or it is not being installed properly.

Sounds like the latter rather than the former, unless this is a 150+ Horsepower that is being beat on belts are actually very tough.

Agree.
I've a lot of confidence in belt strength, and I'm very particular about alignment and adjustment.
