I'd have to see specifically what two bikes you're comparing. The RG and SG?

I like the looks of the SG better, but I can tell you that if you're a bigger guy, definitely test ride the RG. The angle to that fairing is well thought out, and it feels spacious in the saddle. I felt cramped on the SG.

Here's an interesting thing to do - pull up Craigslist and search on "Harley Davidson." When I do that search for my neck of the woods, the local Indian dealership pops up with a bunch of used Harley's. Indian is definitlely gaining some traction.

Or buying them at auction to resell.

I wanted to like the RG, but I much prefer the SG. I'm 6-5/210. I don't feel cramped at all.

Alamomann, your spot on for the assessment of waiting a few years on the Indians especially as to see how they keep up the quality. I think Polaris is in deep **** over the recalls on the offroad razrs and tricycles and may need to make up for the cash outflow by cutting costs where they have sales, which may be in the Indian dept. Polaris really needs to split out their Indian segment from rest of of their segments so we get a better idea of how financially sound they are running that part of the business.

Plausible, but I think the more likely scenario is HD owners trading in their bikes to try out the Indian offering.

A friend of mine went over to test out one of the new M8 Knotheads.

He said it was the nicest Honda he ever rode

Wrong! Buddy of mine works at the Polaris dealer. He told me maybe one of the harleys you see might be a trade in. The rest are bought at auction.

I really like the Indians as well. Very traditional styling. And much of a cvo for 10 grand less. But!! Plan on adding 1500 right out of the box for new exhaust. .. ( the Indian headpiece and slipons) because they sound like absolute sewing machines stock. With the exhaust change they sound very good imo. Harley sound much better stock.
