OK, so this last weekend I flew to New Orleans to attend my daughter's graduation in Gulfport, MS. Made reservations at a Florida HD Dealer for a rental and picked up the bike Monday.
Headed out for a ride with my daughter to Pensacola, Destin area just for the day. Bike was a beautiful 06 or 07 Heritage Softail Classic. Upon firing it up, GOOD LORD!!! is this thing quiet!!
All their rental bikes had stock mufflers. Totally killed the experience(for me anyway..lol). Long story short, we had a great ride but lacked the aura.
Was worried that a Honda Shadow would pull up next to me at a light and laugh. Anyways, on the bright side I rode mine this evening and I can totally appreciate my bike.
Shifts much smoother than the rental(guessing it has to do with the synthetic i used), power is stronger(even at mile high), and the sound!!! HOLY CRAP!!! didn't remember
it being that low and loud. Spent the evening cleaning it for the 430AM commute. I'm still whipped. Guess it'll take awhile for the new to wear off and that's a good thing.

That was my main bummer when I started up my harley for the first time. Love my pipes now!!
