The trappings of each new model year
Especially for us middle age to older riders imho- The new bikes always look bigger, shinier and cooler, at first..so tempting. Then as more new models are on the road with their advanced tech and displacement, it's the older bikes that stand out to me, anyway, with their unique quirks and those that ride them..I farm with older tractors and even the dealers say the newer stuff is more complex and more expensive to maintain- I still feel young but I guess I'm getting old- NEVER thought that would happen. (this is a Winter thread while 85degrees sorry)

You are only as old as you think you are. I carry small rocks in my pocket. When someone says anything even remotely alluding to the fact that I'm getting older I take some out and throw the rocks at them. This normally seems to quiet them down some. People expect you to do crazy **** when you're old and I for one don't want to disappoint them.

With age comes wisdom and knowledge. As we get older we appreciate the simplicity and what can be DIY of the past mechanics of HD. Never thought I'd own a twinkie, but here I am 10+ years after its release. We'll see how that works, but so far so good! But I'll never give up my Evo for the simplicity, shaking and sound, and it will probably take 10 years or so to accept the M-8. Nothing wrong with knowing that "progress" merely keeps a company alive monetarily, yet knowing progress does not actually mean improvement and at the same time enjoying modern technology.
