There are tons of different definitions to "Biker". There is the definition used by the general non-riding public-anyone who rides.
By the way that's millions of people using the wrong definitionaccording to a few thousand.Maybe the definition has changed or is changing over the last 40 years.
There is the definition used by new riders, metric class riders,American class riders, overseas riders. There are the traditional and contemporary definitions.
It's like calling a box of Walmart tissues abox ofKleenex; people do it every day and no one really cares except a few, not all,of the folksthat work at Kleenex.I doubt those folks at Kleenex loose any sleep over it or believe they are going to change what millions of people say. The only folks that seem to get offended about the biker definition are some of thefolks thatare true bikers. They are thehardcore, American riding, live it and breath it riders that live the code everyday and ride regardless of anything. The majority of the rest of the world really don't mean any disrespect; they just use that term to lump it all together like the box of Kleenex.

WTF is a real biker? had this question asked of me last weekend on a ride by some nimrod
who walked up on us while we were sitting. He then proceeded to tell me he was a real biker
and about his glory days. We ignored him and sent him on his way, ten minutes later he's across the street
at a outdoor bird show probably asking the birds if they are real birds

I don't am a rookie biker, ha-ha. I just bought my bike 2 months ago but I do ride it everywhere. I just filled up my tank in my car for the first time since I have had my bike, 2 months. Every day to work weather its 32 deg out or not. I am a project manager for a construction company. When I go to job sites I can take the company truck and save on gas but I would rather take the Hog and pay for the gas. I love pulling up to job sites with plans hanging out my saddles bags. Pull my hard hat out of the saddle back, take my jacket off and you would could never guess I rode a hog.

Just ride and not worry about it. Most people who are judging you are in cages anyway, who cares what they think.

Being a "Biker" is a way of life not a "life-style."
I have to agree with Tripper on this one.

If I have to quit my job, live off of my wife and family, become addicted to drugs and alcohol, get a criminal record, andbecome amenous to society, then I'm not a biker and I don't want to be.

Don't know what to say about that ridiculous statement.

P.S. I hope you have an asbestos suit, cuz you're askin for a flame job!
I wasn't trying to degrade or stereotype the biker image. I was merely copying the image of bikers painted by most movies and television shows, which, in my opinion, only reflects a small percentage of what I consider bikers.

The point I was trying to make was, to me, bikers come in any shape, form, color, or attitude. I consider a biker to be one that love / lives to ride and makes a lifestyle (ok, way of life)out of it. I can take the flames but I didn't intend to target anyone. Heck, I already qualify for a couple of 'em.

Consider this...is a 64 year old man riding a Honda Gold Wing a biker? I wouldn't know and Idon't care. All I know is he is a guy on a bike and I've no problem with that.

When it gets down to it, I really don't care what I biker is! I just wanna ride, dammit!
