Real biker

RE: Real biker
I thought being a biker was a frame of mind. One who rides for the freedom of it.
If I have to quit my job, live off of my wife and family, become addicted to drugs and alcohol, get a criminal record, andbecome amenous to society, then I'm not a biker and I don't want to be.
I do consider myself a biker, though. Perhaps I'm a softcore biker.

I've always felt that 'REAL' bikers let their actions and way of life speak for itself. 'REAL' bikers (as I see it) don't go around pissin' and moanin' about how much of a non-biker everyone else on two wheels is. Rather, they do their best to pass on the traditions and 'ways of the road' to those willing to listen. In some respect, they regard it as a responsibility to see to it that certain things live on. They do their own thing, know who they are, know where they've been, don't bother anybody, and are typically the first to stop and render aid to anyone on any make/model of bike thatthey might see on the side of the roadways. Yep, to me, that's a 'REAL' biker.

I think people who actually ride are. I ride every chance I get. I put 2000 miles a month on my bike. I know people that have had their bike for 4 years and haven't got their 1000 mile service yet!!! And they try to tell me what to wear. haha.

Don't know what to say about that ridiculous statement.

RE: Real biker
Here we go again, this is one of the topic that always get people worked up. But heres my 2 cents. first it don't have nothing to do with what brand you ride or how you dress. I have a freind that ride rockets wear hemets & redrideing suits. But he's more biker then many of the HD flag wavin black leather wearin posers that I see give him the eye when he pulls in. Being a biker is'nt an outfit you put on on sat. Its payin your dues on the road, good times bad times, in the rain, in the sun, broke down, wore down. But knowin youwoulnt have it any other way than on 2 wheels. that to me is a real biker.

RE: Real biker
Kind of a nebulus answer. I'm not sure how the drugs and alcohol would have to fit in to solidify the image. If someone were only a drug addict, would he be almost a biker? The image would be wholly associated with the motorcycle. His associations with others would only be peripheral to his image as a biker. True, like characters are attracted to each other in most cases, but this certainly wouldn't be an absolute to be a biker.
