Default security fob

How far can you ride your bike if you lose your fob?

If you know your security code, you can ride forever without the fob. If you don't, until you shut the engine off.

Until you shut it off. Then you need the fob or code to start it again

Not sure why you our consider it a "chunk of ****"

Never had a problem with the fob.
I switch out the batteries in both the primary and spare annually with $.75 harbor freight batteries.

Also, I keep the instructions to bypass on the bike.

You could always just tattoo the code on your body somewhere, if it's too tough to remember the 5 digit code.... it really isn't all that difficult especially since you can set the code to whatever the hell you want....

Watched way too many guys play the oh **** were's my fob game, guy I work with being the most recent and him having to borrow the bosses truck to run home 30 miles away to get it. Have enough numbers, codes and passwords I have to remember already to add this bit of very real grief to the pile.

More power too ya man, but every single one of those issues was because the owner was an idiot and did not either learn the code, or simply set it to something they already knew....

Yup. Operating the system requires being just a little smarter than the fob, and many seem to struggle with that part of it....

I've got one bike with it and one without. Unless you put the alarm on it the fob is pretty much useless. You still have to use the key to lock it if you don't want someone turning on the ignition. Sure, the bike won't start, but it will still run down the battery...
