Default Weird wear pattern...

Dunlop MH90-21, two months old, 1100 miles. This pattern continues along the RH side of the tire, all the way around. Seems as though the rubber is somewhat porous. Cannot feel any dips or bumps with my bare hand, feels as smooth as the surrounding material.
Thoughts?

I would be looking at returning that tire to where you bought it. Not worth it to run it and have something happen.

That tire would be off my bike with a quickness; I wouldn't trust that tire at all, everything you are is riding on two contact patches. That's not even a wear pattern I've ever seen before, that's a manufacturing defect. Change it before you ride any more miles; and I kid you not...

That looks like a defective tire. Send it back to where you bought it, and get them to replace it.

Cheers!

Yep that tire needs to be gone right now! It was poorly manufactured so you should be able to exchange it for another.

The folks I bought it from said to get hold of Dunlop Consumer Affairs for replacement. I called, left a message, they returned call in 30 min. They asked for pictures and last four numbers DOT code that gives them the year and week of manufacture. Standing by for decision.

Sounds to me that the folks you bought tire from just passed the buck off to you to get tire replaced under warranty.JMHO

I agree, prob defective, bit is there ANY chance something is stuck to the underside of the fender, causing that, as opposed to a bad tire? It would suck if some tared road crap on the fender did that, and it killed your new tire too. The flaw seems very localized to that area, and does go all the way around.

Likely no, but I'd check just in case.
