What is riding a Harley about to you?

RE: What is riding a Harley about to you?
I have been riding for over 40 years. I ride because I don't have a choice. I can't not ride. If I don't own a motorcycle nothing feels right. It is the same reason I play guitar and write songs. I don't really have a choice.

It's all things to all people! Could you imagine a world where there is a reciprocal of the current situation? Thousands of bikes and very few cages! Everyone would be waving, smiling, enjoying life, slowing down to let your fellow brother in! One day, one day....

To me its all about getting away from the stress of the daily grind.....Nothing sounds better than the sound of my pipes and the feel of the wind in my face...granted I have not been riding very long, but its in the blood. I'm starting to realize that its the part of my life thats been missing. I never knew it till just recently... So happy riding everyone no matter what your reasons are...

It is freedom. And it is like Baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and Chevrolet- and Colt 1911's. It is American all and all, thru and thru. Freedom to breath deep, hear the rumble, feel the wind. Freedom to turn wrenches and create something all your own. Freedom to hang with the fellas, meet new people and make friends. Freedom to cruise a canyon or go WFO on a desert road. Freedom is Harley to me.

EK5858,
Gorgeous bike you've got there! I love the color and those white walls...
Yep, I find myself reflecting on life, relaxing, de-compressing after a stressful day, etc. It's the best Stress Therapy there is!

Thanks, that is my wife bike butI ride it to work about once a week and love it. I do enjoy my bagger, but the Deluxe is a raw type ride.

Truthfully, it's about the solitude of riding and being able to just --BE! After a bit of solitude on the bike, you get to pull into ANYPLACE USA and have great conversations with people just because you're out for a ride. The bike starts more conversations imaginable, then again you already knew that.
Oh, the reason I got my own, was to be able to go to the bathroom WHEN I WANTED TOO, not when he remembered 50 miles down the road that I had to go. Bathrooms across america - that's my road trip.

For me its so many different things. I live 2.5 miles from work but some days it can be 20 or 30 miles, especially after I get out of work at 2300 hrs. The roads ae clear and so is my mind.

Andrew,
It's all about the "F..." word, for me. Freedom!!! And that freedom extends far beyond being on a bike and soaking up the surroundings... the Harley reinforces in me the need for freedom in many other things in life... travel, no tolerance for bureaucrats or regimes, enjoying life my own way instead of being forced to live in a cave with no lights the way somepolitical parties want us tolive, choosinghow I want to dress, eat and think.[sm=biker.gif]YEE-Haw!!!
