Is this still the preferred rain gear?

Have a Nelson Rigg suit. Ridden in rain and cold rain. Love it. Talked a buddy into getting one before a ride to FL a few weeks ago. He wound up in 600+ miles of monsoon. He's buying me an expensive dinner (or maybe just a really good bottle of booze) for talking him into getting that suit, so I think he approves.

After doing a couple of searches, it looks like this is the preferred rain suit:

But all the threads were a few years old. So before I spring for this one, I would appreciate any up to date info.
Thanks,
Brad

Frog Toggs are great, as long as you are not near a heat source. I bought them as they are cheap and work great for their intended purpose. I was mindful of the exhaust but still managed to melt the right leg onto the exhaust. If you are hunting or just need rain gear for general purpose they are great, but not on a bike.

I keep a rain suit in my saddle bag at all times. I'm surprised at the number of bagger riders who don't.
When I take road trips I'll use a water resistant textile jacket and pants. It's great for cooler weather, and unlike vinyl rain gear, textile material breathes. Another benefit is by wearing the suit, there's more room in my saddle bags for other stuff.
I've never had a problem with my jacket and pants letting water through the fabric. I treat them with Scotchgard waterproofing spray once a year.
