front brake cable total length???
Hey all, bought some 14" ape hangers for my 07 street bob and now I need to find the appropriate length cables/wiring...for the front brake cable I'm needing a cable around 52-54" long. I've noticed various sites that are selling these aftermarket cables dont seem to be giving the actual lengths but say +2, +8, +10 etc. I came across one site that did have the lengths (said that +8 = 56" for example). So my question is...is that universal? Any site that offers a +8 does that mean the cable length is 56"??
Also, without giving it much thought, I just assumed that if got 14" bars you would buy a 14" cable kit. That's why I'm in this mess cause all the other cables/wires in the kit seem to fit but the front brake cable is too short.
Thanks!!

OK, then it's brake line and not a cable right.(?)
No, kit's are not universally made to a standard by each company,, they all tend to add their own little tweeks.
If you have the bars on or at least mocked-up into position,, you can use a stiff wire to get a good idea of how long you need,, just start on the caliper and feed/bend/shape the wire to the grip then measure the wire.
Magnum Shielding has a nifty tool on their website where you look up your bike then choose +sizes,, if your careful to look and dig a little you can find the exact length of the +sizes they recommend,,

With Brake lines it's important to know what size and angle is needed for the ends,, that's on the Magnum site too
You can then use that length to make a purchase of what you need elsewhere
