Barnett Grabby

Barnett Grabby
I just installed a new Barnett clutch Carbon Fiber Extra Plate Clutch Kit part # 307-30-20013 I am also using the stock spring and AIM variable pressure clutch with atf for fluid.
I've noticed that it is grabby when the clutch is disengaged and I also can't seem to get any better adjustment then disengaging very close to the bar. I even tried making the screw adjustment with it seated and not turned out the 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
The reason I put the new clutch was the old clutch seemed to be slipping when I accelerated hard, now I hit the throttle and it reacts positively like a wild banshee.
Is it possible this is the characteristics of the Barnett matched up with the AIM variable pressure clutch?
I spoke to the Barnett tech this morning before doing the switch over from the stock clutch and he had recommended me Not following the Barnett instructions and to Not use the stock clutches damper Spring and the damper dished shape spring so I left them out and I'm getting a grabby result and clutch disengaging close to the bar.
I've had a thought to eliminate the extra plate thinking perhaps the extra plate is causing the issue but now realize the stock harley clutch has less than the extra plate kit but also the stock plates are thicker than the Barnett plates.
Any ideas?

I just did it according to the manual, works perfectly. I'd have a hard time believing that fluid would make that big of a difference, but maybe it does. I'm more likely to think something isn't assembled right.
