Default Dyna Lowrider puttering

When I start the bike, it will start up perfect and idle perfectly. One I start riding. It's like puttering. Like the bike is loosing power. I just give it some choke and that helps allot. Do I need a new carb?

Ethanol in your gas? The ethanol erodes jet needles and mainjets quickly.

What you are calling a "choke" is actually an enrichener. Generally you start the bike cold with the enrichener pulled all the way out and let it warm up a few minutes at high idle. Then you push it in about halfway so the RPM's decrease to a point that putting it into first gear wont go "BANG".
As you ride for a few minutes and the engine warms up you can push the enrichener in slightly. Once warmed up you can push it in all the way. If you try to push it in all the way before it is warm the engine won't idle and want to stall.

A normal choke is used to start the engine and can be pretty quickly after start up. Not so with the enrichener. The colder it is outside the longer you will run with it pulled out some.

My '04 Road King Custom had a carb with an enrichener. My new bike has fuel injection and you just get on and go. I may be old fashioned but I do miss the old enrichener and carb. The 88 Cu. In. also sounded better, IMHO.

I can let the bike idle for 10 minutes or more and the bike will still do the same thing.

Maybe not a new carb but just a rebuild. A Nordy said above ethanol is mean stuff and plays havoc on older carbed bikes.

Try running some cleaners through your system first sometimes gas can get a little dirty and it could gum things up causing the throttle to stick valves plug and things don't fire right. If it still running strange after you put the cleaner through the bike then check out the carb.

If your bike does this, then try a new approach. Pull in clutch lever, WAIT 3 SECONDS, THEN shift the shift lever. See if that reduces your "BANG."

First thing, try cleaning your spark plugs and your carburetor. Make sure your jets aren't clogged.

You let your air cooled bike idle for 10 minutes? Do you mean sitting and idling?
