I use my heel to up-shift, less movement also from the highway pegs. down-shift the regular way. (with bottom of foot)

I think someone said ,scuffs on boots only means you've been riding. My boots are scuffed and don't bother me in the least. Boots are boots like any thing else they will wear out. I have two pair of Harley Boots wearing well . I guess experimentation with boots or shifter is up to the individual.. Ride Safe and Often.....BearC.Paw.....

I have Iso shifter also and it has yet to make a mark on my boots.

When I was younger, an old guy said he glueda small piece of carpet to the bottom of his shifter so it wouldn't rub as much. Dunno if it helped him or not, but I do notice that different types of leather make a HUGE difference in the amount of wear you're going to see. I have an old pr of elephant hide boots I wear when I ride, can't even see from the boot where the shifter hits.

I have the heal shifter... best fix for boot scuffs. =)

Does your peg have a cushion on the bottom of it? I have the Harley Nostalgic pegs and they have a soft foam pad on the underside of them. Could be that you could either get a peg like that OR glue something like that onto your existing pegs.

I agree with the comment about having scuffed boots is not a problem. It is part of riding.

Or is it really that it hurts your toe when you ride with sandles, shorts, and a tank top? J/K... saw a guy wearing flip flops on a Deuce the other day.... Gotta wonder what goes on in people's minds sometimes.

I replaced my boots because they weren't keeping my feet dry anymore. I can't wait til they're all scuffed up and weathered. Looks like I own a garage queen.

i have the same problem most of my boots have an obvious mark on the left boot from the shifter. I also ride 2 dif bikes.

It does take a while fer the leather to wear off and to be honest there are too many posers out there walkin a round with a leather jacket and/or boots who don’t know a v-twin from a metric on their best day.

Wear it as a badge of honor my friend.

I didn't like the fact that my RKC came with a heel shifterbecauseI hadn't had one on a bike since my 1970 Honda 70. I decided to keep it a week or so before removing it just to give it a try. Love it and no scuffed boot toes.

There is a company making a strap-on boot protector. The scuffing doesn't bother me, but to each their own.
