First time riding is always...mostly always shaky. I know it was for me after being away for 30+ years. Just remember that you're invisible to EVERYONE besides other riders.

Beautiful bike, congrats. If you haven't ridden much in the last number of years, absolutely take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, beginner's riding course. MSF also have advanced courses, and they are fantastic as well, actually take both, it never hurts. Here's a link to get you started. http://www.in.gov/rsi/

I've already checked in to the courses. I wanted to take the ABATE course, but it's booked until July, I think. There's a course at a HD dealer that I can get in much sooner. Either way, I'm definitely taking one.
I no longer have a motorcycle endorsement, so I'm riding on a permit. The course will waive the riding test at the BMV.
As an added bonus, my insurance offers a discount for completing the course.
