Default SE Spark Plug Wires

Been reading some info that Screamin Eagle spark plug wires can cause problems on newer bikes. I wanted to replace the stock wires on my 2016 FXDL, just for the looks of the colored wires, but I was reading that it can mess up the EFI, or something, on new bikes. Thoughts?

My experience with the SE wires has been very positive - several years and counting since putting them on my '010 FB and no probs of any kind. If the HD catalog lists them for your bike I say 'go for it!'

Put them on my '07 about 4 years ago, no issues at all.

I've seen it in logs after I put some on my 10, Something about resistance creating false Knock Events that cause the ECM to pull timing when not nessesary. Put stock ones back on, No Knock recorded. May not happen on Rushmores IDK.

They work best in conjunction with SE Spark Plugs...

I have used USKoolines for many years on three different bikes with no issues. Check out their website and all the colors and combinations available. Ron 😎

Just stopped in and talked with the parts guy at the local dealer. He said the same thing^^^^^, he said they don't even sell the SE wires anymore because of this. Will it "hurt" anything? I don't know, but with a brand new bike, I'm not taking any chances. Guess I'll stick with the stock ones.

as long as the ohm's per foot is within tolerance, can not see why would be a problem. you can also find ignition cables form ACCEL.

As long as they are correct for your model year they should be fine. For example using carbureted Evo wires on a new bike might cause a problem.
