Default Jerry Perez' common sense

" BREAKING NEWS: Helmets Save Lives – Report People with Common Sense By Jerry Perez - March 11, 2016"

Front page HDForums.?.

Why is it that so many people, and also the government want to quote sideways statistics to justify their half truth slant. Why can't they report the truth if they really believe their opinion. Then they even have the gall to insult anyone with a different opinion/statistics/information with the "common sense" phrase, meaning their mind is closed. Yet, they're the "authors" we keep getting.

Why are you judging if you are "who am I to judge"?
Why is it "deaths have risen" without consideration for number of bikes, miles ridden, weather, riders, training, and types of accidents?
Why is it "half died...weren't wearing a helmet", without consideration for why, or whether a helmet would have helped or not?
If "wearing a helmet is frowned upon by most", why wouldn't that mean your "common sense" is not, but rather your fear for others is obviously not only misguided, but also more of an outsider looking in and not seeing the truth about riding. Some ride accepting the danger of riding; others ride overly concerned for themselves and strangers to the point of broadcast, but not enough to provide maximum protection for themselves.
Using "considerable number of head injuries" is pure speculation and scare tactic thank you.
For some "the whole point of riding is to be able to come back home...", for most it is one more ride on the beloved motorcycle knowing the car or sofa would be a lot safer.
How do you know if Lawrence of Arabia would have had a helmet available he would have used it on that last ride or not?
In any case, everyone wants to ride safe, some are more concerned than others and get more training, more safety items on their bikes, ride more carefully/less crazy, and wear more safety clothes that others. Oh yeah, and sometimes a helmet. Ride safe.

It is the law in Mississippi that I have to wear a helmet when I ride. But the truth is I would wear one anyway.I think an adult should be able to choose if they want to wear one.

Wait until the government requires frontal air bags on new models.

Why get your panties all in a wad? It's an opinion piece by some guy named Jerry Perez. The best part of the piece is the photo that was selected to demonstrate the sound thinking of wearing a helmet. It shows two nitwits with 1/2 helmets, the honey with a sleeveless shirt, and the dude with no other protective clothing. Of course the helmets are flat black, the best color for the Daytona sun.

Ride the way you want.....
