Pick a central location from where you want to ride and make that your base camp.

you can do rushmore, custer park and crazy horse easily in one day. devils tower and deadwood is another you can do in one day. if you start at 3pm you would have trouble doing them in one day but if you get going by mid morning they will be easy to do.

I understood that you could spend a day at the Little Big Horn.

How long does it take to ride through the Black Hills? Is it just the park they are talking about?

Just do what you want.
That time of year it will work out.
You shouldn't need reservations.

We do that ride a couple times a summer since its so close for us. We always stay in Deadwood at the Mineral Palace. Rooms have always been descent price for us and they have an overhang in the back built right into the motel so if you run into bad weather the bike is good along with a bike washing area in the same spot including towels, soap, water hose.. The employees are back there several times thru the day/night for added security which is a bonus. All them day trips are easy to do and you probably wouldn't have issues finding a place to stay. Its Wild Bill Days in Deadwood the third weekend in June so it will be somewhat busy. We will be there on the bikes over that weekend. Good luck and safe riding.

We went last year in June...we left with no reservations and had no problem finding places to stay. You may be a little more than you would like (I am a cheap bastard)....but it is totally doable...we stayed right in Sturgis one night....
put in a lot of riding on that trip...it was awesome...
