Indy in Milwaukee?
Can you recommend a great independent mechanic in Milwaukee? Someone you would trust to treatyour bike like their own for a 1000 mile service and to develop a relationship with for a future cam change, etc? Using an indy worries me a little, but so does using a dealer. High-volume dealer mechanics might miss something. Indys might lack expertise.
Any suggestions near Milwaukee?

I don't know where you are in milwaukee but i live in Kenosha and have worked with Firehouse performance. They do a good job and have a pretty nice website. Great staff and knowledgeable as hell.

Oh my goodness! What an experience!
I just called Klink's V-Twin Repair in Waukesha. What a different experience from calling Hal's and Wisconsin Harley! The guy on the phone was nice, knowledgeable, and appreciated my business. He said I could drop the bike off on Monday for a 1000 mile service and probably pick it up the same day. Or if I wanted to leave it overnight, that's okay with them. The owner was out on a test ride, so the guy I talked to was an actual mechanic. I can tell I'm going to like this place.
My dealer wanted me to race in to get in line at 6am and pay an inflated price. No way! After this phone call I'm sold on using an independent shop for my service needs.
I'll report on my service experience at Klink's next week. I feel like I've seen the light!

Do you have a link for Klink?
I'm in Chicago, but I've been known to travel for good service and/or a good price. I'm coming up on 10,000 check up, and the three dealers I've been to around here can't even seem to agree if I had a battery problem or a breather problem. (In any case, one of them seems to have corrected the problem.)

They don't have a website. If you google "Klink's V-Twin Repair" you'll get their number. They're located on S West Drive in Waukesha, WI.

I use Firehouse also. Bryan, the owner is very knowledgeable.
Firehouse beats the crap outta the dealer for prices also.
Watty, when you mention a website, you have to post a link for it.....
