the kickstand on your bike does damage a recently paved lot ( blacktop) with all 700 plus #s on the small surface of the stand, just look what the dealers designated bike parking is CONCRETE I I think this has somrthing to do with it

Forgot to mention that I parked in a parking garage at the hospital last weekend; they had a section right inside reserved for motorcycles, and when I left the attendent took my ticket and told me to drive around the gate. Thought that was cool as hell of her.

I don't think it us on HDs that has ruined the parking situation but rather the guys doing burnouts, endos, and well stands (read rockets) that did it to all of us.
Just my opinion, maybe shared but others but if not, please don't bother trying to pick an argument. I am on the Friday Night Official Drinking Post and was just browsing and thought I would add my 2 cents.

None of the parking lots in New Orleans will let bikes park in them..We were on 2 Full dress Goldwings with sidecars and weren't allowed to park, had to park on the street. We pulled onto one parking lot to ask the attendant where we could park, the lady said we had to leave, I told her I just wanted to ask where we could park......she got irate and told us if we didn't leave she would call the police. On the street, at 3:00 PM the parking lane became a driving lane, we didn't know this and at 3:05 we got a ticket that cost us $50.00 each. Last time we ever went to New Orleans.

Funny you should ask...
Just moved from Pittsburgh to Phoenix, bike in bed of P/U, draggin an Airstream behind. 40 hrs driving and not much sleep I arrive at the "Mobile Home Park" where I'd made arrangements. 1st thing out of the "landlady's" mouth...motorcycles aren't allowed. WTF!?! Promised not to off load the bike, and put it in a storage unit the next day.
This place was like crack ho/tweeker central. So poor I couldn't steal a WiFi signal. Her excuse...owner's rule. Claims owner's kid was intentionally killed by a biker, with his bike (details aren't pleasant).
Whatcha gonna do? Move out! Stayed a month and into an apt closer to work, with a garage.
Sure gonna miss that $200/mo rent, but life is too short to be that cheap.

On a related note: Do valet parking lot attendants park motorcycles? Lots of places only have valet parking.

i just got a $110 parking ticket for parking next to the bike racks on the side of a local theatre. seen bikes there before and ive parked mine there before. i felt safer knowing it was out of the way of someone not paying attention thinking a empty spot was one with my bike in it and BAM! BTW it was COMPLETELY out of the way of any pedestrian traffic...
