Drtbag, I know it's frustrating, and annoying, but this is an internet forum, and by it's very nature you will get many replys that should never have been posted.
There are those that just feel the need to "speak up', no matter how stupid they sound.

Hey Drtbag, if your asking a bunch of "morons that cant walk and chew gum at the same time" a question, what does that say about your intelligence?

P.S name calling is a good way to get in trouble on this forum.

Drtbag.. My earlier reply was meant as a recommendation of the Jawbone. If you need it on while riding, I think, from my experience, that it is the best one that you can get.

Just because I don't use mine doesn't mean that I condemn anyone that does. If you need it, I am sure you have good reasons.

Ride safe bro!

Dogwood,

I have you used the BlueAnt bike to bike any? Also what kind of helmet do you wear?

And on a side not, people need to chill, drtbag did not ask if he should or should not talk on a cell phone, he asked how a certain product works.

Thanks,

I've been searching for a good bike to bike solution, that doesn't require a bunch of wires. My son is a new rider who has just finished MSF. I'd feel a lot better being able to coach him when we ride together.

Question: The BlueAnt solution sounds interesting. Does anyone know if a PTT button or switch is needed or is there a VOX feature? I don't want to have to take a hand off the grips to talk.

Yes, and it works well close to the advertised 450', although I did not actually measure it, if I could see the other person, I could hear them within that distance, curves and hills reduced the signal range significantly.

We used a pair of HJC 3/4 helmets.
Blue any says that it will work only with 3/4 and full face helmets, but if you're a good engineer, then I'm sure a 1/2 helmet attachment could be fabricated.
I'm planning on working on this one soon.[8D]

The Blue Ant Interphone does not have a PTT, it uses a voice activation, full duplex talk.

It would work well for the "coaching" application, although the student might get annoyed at having the teacher right in his ear.

My son can choose for himself, My voice in his ear, or my foot in his Azz

Thanks for the feedback, this sounds perfect.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Jawbone. I have a Jabra BT250V and except for noise from the mic in public places and the wind, it's awesome. I'll get a Jawbone when price comes down.

I trust CNET and you can see their review at:

http://reviews.cnet.com/Aliph_Jawbon...tag=prod.txt.2

I'm not sure that anything is going to work on the bike with a small helmet.

Whether someone uses cell on the bike is their choice. Make sure you don't use something that distracts you, such as a radio or intercom, before throwing stones at others.
