Default Still better looking than the newer bikes...

Haven't ridden this beauty as much since I got the 'roided out Fat Bob. But I rode it to work today, my 12-year-old Wide Glide. And it is still a beautiful scoot, better looking to my old eyes than anything coming out of H-D INC. recently...

I still think the EVO and up-to-2008 twin cam Wide Glide shape is one of the best looking, ever.

I went in to a dealer to buy an anniversary one in 2002, and there was a huge wait time in Australia for Harley's at that time. You had to pay your deposit and wait three months minimum - even more if you wanted a black one. There was a blue Fatboy that was the only bike in the store that wasn't sold, so I bought that.

So when I came to buy a new Harley in 2013, I was gutted to see that the wide glide had been so heavily altered in style. I had been off riding sports bikes etc.. and hadn't kept up with what Harley was doing for years. No bobtail rear fender ? Strange style exhaust ? In AUS, they were still selling the Softail standard (up until 2015) and I regarded those as a softail version of the wide glide, so never understood why they did what they did to the 2010 later glide in style.

I bought a street bob instead.

Nice scoot! I haven't ridden in a few weeks. It's either been raining or too friggin' cold or both. Well, it is January in South Carolina after all. I need to look at the bright side - there is an election in November.

If Harley would make a bike that looks as good and lasts as long as my 22 year old FLSTN, I'd buy it. But they don't, so...
