It has a wider AND brighter beam than the truck lite and when you turn on the hi beam you can see all the way to tomorrow.
As someone else said, lumens mean nothing because it is the lenses that make it usable. Bottom line is yes, it is spendy. But if you want the best--- then this is the light to get.
Good feedback and glad you can afford it but still right around $800. Can't remember what I paid for my first Daymaker but wasn't cheap. I know I forgot the wallet pain my first ride at night.

$520 right now through Revzilla. Still spendy, but coming down.

The $520 one is NOT the adaptive.

I had the 5 3/4 version on my Street Bob. The quality of the light is amazing. The high beam in particular seemed to go for miles. The adaptive version is pricey, but a pretty cool feature, although if I were to buy another one I'm not sure the adaptive version is worth the almost double price they were charging over the M model at the time.

I had the adaptive version and I say this because to really get the effect and benefit of the adaptive lights it had to be in a low speed turn where it wasn't that hard to see into the blind spot it illuminated. Cornering at cruising speed didn't have much of a changing effect. Now if you're really scraping pegs at night on poorly lit back roads then the adaptive feature would be well worth the money, but that's not really my riding style.

If if money is not an issue you can't do better, but don't feel you're missing out on too much with the non-adaptive version.
