I never bothered mounting the clamp that came with the lift and used the roll-in and lock chock like others have suggested. After a few frustrating experiences trying to gracefully remove front tires, I went ahead and bought a proper clamp.

Just bought my HF lift. Are you guys riding up on this thing? Or walking it up while its running or what?

Every time I look at it, I can just imagine me falling over. My road king leaves little room for my feet to touch the lift table and the last time I maneuvered my bike while standing on the side of it, I nearly dropped a nut out of my sack trying to keep it from hitting the ground after I got it a little to far leaned over.

Yes, I am that big of a wuss.

I ride mine up, but of course I got long legs also.

I saw a post where-as a guy built two 2X6 extension for the sides for the same reasons you mention.
