The "I own my bike outright" poll...

Add me to the paid cash column.
Like a lot of folks here I was brought up with the 'if you can't pay cash for it, you probably can't afford it and definitely don't need it attitude.' I use credit cards, but only the ones that pay me to use them. If I can't pay in full by the due date, I don't use it. My last home was paid off within ten years of original purchase. I also added a three car garage and shop for the toys with cash (and my own sweat and blood building it). Then the divorce... my, my, my, how quickly things can change. Walked away with nothing but my guitars, jeans, and t-shirts. If I had in cash what that property is now worth and put it in stocks, I'd be a gazzilonaire in ten-fifteen years
But... alas... I don't
Now happily remarried and starting all over in a different state with the exact same plan (with the exception of this time I'm sticking a little bit away that can't be touched by evil people).
The moral of this pitiful little story is to have a plan and don't over splurge... Things change and $hit happens.

I follow the advice of my college accounting professor. "Cash for consumables-borrow for business."

1 1/2 years in on a 4 year deal. If I keep going like I am, It will be paid for in just over 2 years.
I'll probably buy another anyway, by the time it's paid for it will be time to rebuild the first one!LOL

I buy used.. like right now while people are in a bad spot. Not trying to take advantage but people are in dire straights right now so i'll help any way I can!!!
Paid my 00 deuce with a 2.9 fixed c.c and paid it off in 6 weeks. Now looking for a roadglide to do the same thing.
I hate owing people money... period!
