The "I own my bike outright" poll...
#301
A lot of cash buyers...financed here. My money makes more interest than the rate on my bike. My money makes money for me while I make a payment. Also, I like to have money on hand for disasters. I have been through a few hurricanes and there is always out of pocket expenses. I'd rather have my money accessible versus tied up in the bike. $17,000 can go a long way when making repairs to the house. If it hits the fan, I can pay it off or can make payments out of what is in the bank.
Paying it off is great, but making money is better.

Interesting thread..................
Just FYI........ back in 1973 I was a GM of a HONDA motorcycle dealership in Jacksonville, Florida.... we sold 200-250 bikes per MONTH...
of course, some were smaller bikes, dirt bikes, and CB750's......
People paying CASH was at least 98%, the rest on credit or credit card.........
But, as some of you are now saying to yourself......
a NEW CB750 was selling retail for $1,495.00 and the smallest bike... I think it was a CT50 sold for $295.00.... my wife and I had two of those just to cruise up and down Jacksonville Beach and Daytona Beach.....I think we had more fun on those two than the CB750..... which, with a 4 cylinder sounded like a small PORSCHE and was just as SMOOOOOTH!
So, here I am some 35 years later writing a check for a $20,000.00 bike...... UNNNNBELIEVABLE !!!!
