Have never borrowed money to buy a motorcycle. Have two now and have gone through eleven or twelve others. Doesn't mean I have never been tempted to borrow money and get something better. Just never considered this to be anything other than discretionary - except for the almost new but dissabled 69 Ironhead Sportster that I just HAD to have (and repair) to make it back and forth to college. Nothing else made sense to me at the time Still, I worked to pay cash for that one too.

I own everything I have "outright" . Amazing how easy it is to get the things you want when you dont give all your money away in interest payments

Bought mine used, so we were able to pay cash for it. Also bought hubby's new one cash, but used money from the sale of our house.

I sold some stock and paid cash for my bike. With the exception of a home mortgage, I've always lived debt free.

I put a little over 50% down and plan to pay the bike off within the next 12 months. I went with HD 60 month financing, simple interest, no penalty for early payoff.
