The "I own my bike outright" poll...

RE: The "I own my bike outright" poll...
There is something to be said for paying cash and owning something but...go and get a low interest rate and pay $200-300 a month on it...meanwhile, take the $20000 you would have dropped on something that is no longer worth $20K when the ink is dry and put it in a CD or mutal fund or something...pay the 4-6% interest on the bike and make 8-15% or whatever investing...netting 2-x%. Yes it isn'ta sure thing but nothing in life is.
Also, take a loan on your 401K and pay yourself interest if you have to finance.

Paid 5000 € cash and then financed 9000 more. 3 years and it will be mine, MINE ONLY MINE! BWAHAHAHAHA!
Er...
I just didn't have the money, and will have to sell some of my guns to get some more money, but it was well worth it.

I wanted to finance it for a month until I would close this deal I was working on. They told me I didn't need to sign or pay for anything until the bike was ready for pick up. I had asked the dealer to add the stage one, pipes, lowering and chrome forks; by the time they were done I had my cash on hand. So cash and carry. (well actually ride)

Bought two bikes this spring
Bought two bikes this spring outright. 02 Fatboy for me and 01 hugger for the wife. Got great deals on both... paid less for both than the cost of one new fatboy.

Wow zell, you really know how to use the search! If we are only talking HDs, I bought the first one FXD with a down payment and payed the guy monthly for a year. The other 3 1200C, Ultra, and Deuce were cash. All used bikes and all WELL below retail.

Paid cashs for all my bikes, 2 Sportsters, 2 Dynas, cashs for three cars, no mortgage, money in the bank and still working at 70--in the oil industry in Canada the money is to good to pass up
