RE: The "I own my bike outright" poll...
I'm trading my XL tomorrow for an 07Street Glide. I've decided to finance the $9500.00 balance on my trade at HD's 2.99% promo rate. Now, with deals like that why would anyone want to pay cash?
At the very least, you could invest the money you would have paid cash for the bike in safe investments and earn at least 4-5% a year?

I bought my Fatboy outright in April of 2006. Had been considering getting a bike for about a year before and when I sold some property I figured it was time or else the profit would be gone before I knew it. With 2 kids in college that wasn't going to take long. There was never a second thought as to what brand of bike the purchase was going to be. I wasn't about ot buy a Jap bike and then wish I had purchased a Harley. So I started out on top and will never look back.

Of the around 7 bikes I have owned over the years this is the first one I have not owned outright. Still making payments and will be for a few more years.
