Harley Rider Average Age is 47
The local paper ran what was probably a nat'l. release story today on Harley & transitions. It said the avg, age of us was 47 (oh, I freaking wish!)... while the average age rider of otherbrands is 38. Surprised the avg. age of the others is that high?!
Article had the same old drivel about Wall Street wringing their hands wondering if the MoCo can deal with that advanced age thing. Unless I've missed something here, we keep producing more and more47 year olds.

Not surprising considering the price of a new Harley. The models in the H-D motor clothes catalog aren't spring chickens either.

When people ask me my age, I tell them. The next question is usually "Where did you grow up?" I tell them, I'll let them know when it happens!

RE: Harley Rider Average Age is 47
Harley clearly targets the boomer generation, those folks who now have the money to live out a 60s/70s 'Easy Rider'/bikergang fantasy. The younger generations, for the most part, want high tech and speed at bargain prices. Their heros are motorcycle racers, not biker gang members. If I cared, I'd say that Harley had better begin to broaden their product line and update their marketing. but it's their company. It's nothing to me if they rise or fall.
