Helmets
Can someone tell me if changing helmets may help with buffeting. I wear a 3/4 with a flip up face shield. I have heard that a half helmet without a visor eliminates a lot of this.

The flip up shield probably catches a lot of air, but a 1/2 helmet can be a lot noisier with the wind. Earplugs help but a good fitting helmet, 1/2, 3/4 or full-faced is still the best idea.

If you're riding with a windshield it's a good bet the wind is coming up from underneath the windshield. When you're moving along, take your left forearm and place it in front of your chest and move it about a little. That will give you an idea where the turbulance is coming from.
I've worn 1/2's, 3/4's and full faces. The full face will give you the least buffeting. Any thing protruding from the helmet that can act like a sail is going to cause problems ( visor for example)
