I love shovels, but always hated the look of a turtle tank. Clean looking bike though

Can anyone place a value on lust? Lust in this case might be worth $12,500.
Can anyone by a new '75 Superglide?

NADA has this bike priced between 9 and 14. I recently sold an up and running 77 Super Glide for 4 grand, but that bike was beat. Like upflying said if you want something within your means, money is no object. What is the problem is buying a supposedly one owner cherry off Ebay, who knows what you are really going to get.

Not a bad looking bike by any means but I too would agree that 12.5 is a bit much. Seller left off a couple of things about the bike.

Additional not stock/OEM parts...front and rear brake lines, front and rear brake discs, front brake caliper, rear brake master cylinder, point cover on the end of the cone, chrome handlebar controls (both right and left) and the mount for the ignition, choke and horn has been rewelded at some point.

Finding good rebuildable front and rear calipers are out there but hard to find (they are date coded). The front and rear brake discs were solid and not slotted. Those are more easily found. Handlebar components were aluminum. Best part is that the same controls were used for Sportster models so that opens up more parts availability.

Not correct for the year...side battery cover (wasn't offered), forward foot pegs (wasn't offered), but these items are easily removed.

The above listed parts can be had at reasonable prices but it takes some searching and some time.

The seller has done a lot of polishing on the aluminum (or so it appears). HD wasn't into high polish finish on aluminum components, but it looks nice.

The hardest part to find to get that back to stock (if the new owner chooses) is the exhaust system. There were three options...true duals, 2-1 with a cigar muffler (had a -53 part number) and a 2-1 collector with dual tips (absolutely butt ugly). None of those exhaust systems, when located will be cheap.

The only concern/question I would have is regarding the top end. Seller says stored and covered since the 80's. Does that mean never started or just exactly what. Guarantee the top end gaskets are gonna be super dry (they were just paper). You won't get 50 miles and the top end will leak like a sieve. And from the pics it does indeed look like the front and rear cylinder heads are leaking (which means pulling them and doing a top end).

Think as it sits, 8-10K is a more realistic price (but obviously I am not the seller), but who knows, he may just get his reserve price and then the rest falls into place.

It is however, a very nice survivor.

pretty bike. My first harley was a 72 superglide, paid 2500.00 new. Hope that didn't make you feel bad!! I think the price is a little high, but if all that is said is true, might be hard to find a nicer one, and it looks very ride ready

It's at $6600.
If it was local I'd be looking hard at it. But I have a shovel problem. LOL
