HOG=Harleys Owners Group.
that ought to be an interesting proposal, let me see a HOG meeting with a bunch of wingers mixed in. doubt the beer and tattoos with men and women in HD wife beater t-shirts will mix in well with the Lattes and designer clothes?

If one wants to be a full member, you have to own, and be listed as the first name on a registration...According to the contact I had at the Harley Owner's group. I had to list my wife as the owner , first name on my 96 EG Classic, even though the 03 Sportster was going to be hers. It had been registered with my name first when we bought it. Then we bought the 01 EG Classic to convert to a trike, and I am listed as the first name owner. Either way, in order for both of us to be full members, riding individual bikes, we have to be listed as first name owners and 'actually own ' a bike.

As per the HOG website:
Full membership - Have to own either a Harley-Davidson or Buell motorcycle.
Associate membership - Must be sponsored by a full member. And associate membership comes with limited benefits.

You have to enter a valid H-D or Buell VIN on the application. I don't know if HOG personnel actually varify that with your state's DMV or not. I doubt it. And once you're a member, it seems you can just keep renewing forever. You could probably go into a dealer, write down a VIN and join with that number if you wanted to, although why anyone would want to join HOG if they didn't own a Harley is beyond me. To be honest, I don't know why anyone WITH a Harley wants to belong to HOG.
