To put in a HD smart security system and a smart siren II and set up 2 fobs I got quoted for 3 hours labor @ 73.00 an hour and another shop quoted me 1 hour @ 99.00

WTF lol, if it wernt for the fobs I think I could install it myself..

Wondering what I should do...

 

Select the cheaper of the two. Note, I have the fobs and don't use them.

 

The alarm comes with good instructions then let the stealer do the key fobs

 

one hour @ $99 per hour ????

If you go that route, pre pay prior to it going in.

 

I put on the Security system myself and it wasn't that difficult - Fob and all. I am pretty sure the new version - 'smart' - is basically the same. do a search in the forums and you'll get pretty in-depth instructions. It takes about 45 minutes to 'marry' the Security module to the ECM, but other than that, it goes pretty quick. The instructions you get with the system are a little lacking, the ones here on the forums made all the difference.

 

Install it yourself. I'm just learning to do stuff on the bike and even I could install this in an hour. And it's nice feeling to do it yourself. It's a very simple install.
